Our P6 and P7 girls play in the Armagh Cumann na mBunscol Medium Schools County Final on Friday 21st April in the Box-It Athletic Grounds @10.15am.
The girls have performed superbly throughout the year and played in the indoor County finals in March only to be pipped by a point in a thrilling final game against St. Mary’s Mullaghbawn.
On Friday they play St. Joseph’s Primary School, Madden, in the final after beating St. Teresa’s Primary School, Lurgan, in a play-off before Easter. The game against St. Teresa’s went to extra time after a brilliant comeback from our girls who found themselves behind at half-time. The girls displayed tremendous courage, spirit and skill to bring themselves back into the game and lead in the closing stages only for St. Teresa’s to score the final two points to bring the game into extra time.
Once again, our girls went behind in the first period of extra time but fought back to regain the lead which they held until the final whistle. This was an excellent win for our school and the first time in recent years that the girls’ team have qualified for the County Finals.
We wish the girls the best of luck in the final and we know they will represent Our Lady’s with great pride, courage, skill, and effort.
Parents and supporters are welcome to come to the Box-It Athletic Grounds on Friday 21st April @10.15am to support our girls in the Malachy Mc Geeney final. COME ON TULLYSARAN!!
