Safer Internet Day -Tuesday 9th February 2021
9th Feb 2021
Together for a better internet.
This year, Safer Internet Day explores reliability online. The internet has an amazing range of information and opportunities online, but how do we separate fact from fiction?
Have a look at the video 'Lee and Kim's Adventure - Animal Magic' and discuss with your child(ren) the importance of Internet safety.
The 4 top tips are:
- Stranger Danger - pupils need to be aware some people they might be talking to online are not who they say they are.
- Online politeness and courtesy - some people are very rude and aggressive online as they can hide behind a keyboard and screen.
- Personal information - keep personal information private and do not share online.
- Tell a trusted adult - if pupils feel uncomfortable or scared, they need to tell a trusted adult.
Have a look at the attached document below 'The Smart poster' which gives us important advice to ensure online safety.
