World War II trip to the Palace Stables
23rd Jan 2019
The P4 pupils thoroughly enjoyed their World War II day at the Palace Stables. They made identity labels and identity cards before they met Mr Smith the Evacuation officer. He was very strict, he showed us the Anderson shelter and the underground tunnel with the black out curtains. We loved singing 'Run rabbit run rabbit run run run'. We also met a GI soldier who taught us many drills and we also decoded a secret message using a cipher wheel to help us. It was a great day.
